Activism
We make sure our community is responsive to the needs of the whole community, that we react in peaceful unity against hate, wherever it may rise, and that we do our part to ensure our community is as just and equitable as possible.
Activism is only a small but important part of bringing awareness. Through peaceful unity we can call attention to the issues that are being overlooked and educate the community on issues in the community. Together we can take action for their resolution. We only believe in peaceful events and rallies. Never have or will a community be improved through violent means.
Direct activism is one of the first activities we have done to date. Calling attention to issues of racial justice, not being afraid to cause peaceful disruptions, and force our community to acknowledge the systemic racism in this county. We have organized numerous rallies, marches, sidewalk rally’s, and die-ins to date. UDTJ stays committed to exercising our first amendment rights at anytime to push for much needed reforms for and by the communities who have had their voices silenced and ignored for decades.
