Liber-tea Party - America 250

Liber-tea Party - America 250

We, as many others, have struggled with whether to celebrate this year. With so much of American Ideals having been decimated we decided to create our own space. We still hold these truths to be self-evident and worth fighting for... that all people are created equally and are endowed with the inalienable rights to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

For the 250 anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, marginalized communities unite to celebrate each other.

From our queer leaders such as Baron Friedrich von Steuben to the sacrifices of Crispus Attucks.

We remember figures like Crispus Attucks, Phillis Wheatley, Prince Hall, James Armistead Lafayette, Salem Poor, Peter Salem, Colonel Tye, Elizabeth Freeman, and the countless enslaved people whose names were never recorded but who fought wherever freedom was promised.

Our history is the foundation of this nation and we will celebrate them.

——————

We also gather for those still fighting for liberation today. From our Black and Brown communities, LGBTQIA+ people, trans and gender-expansive people, immigrants under attack by ICE, people with disabilities, women, workers, youth, rural farm workers, Appalachian miners, and everyone still demanding safety, dignity, and justice. History may seem boring at first, but remembering the people have been fighting this struggle for centuries is the empowerment we need to succeed! Freedom remains unfinished, and we're never giving up.

Spring Into Support 🌱 Join Us for a UDTJ Spring Reset!

Spring Into Support: A UDTJ Spring Reset

This month, we’re switching things up with a lowkey, come-and-go Spring Reset instead of a traditional resource fair. Think cozy, welcoming, and actually fun, a space to hang out, grab what you need, and just be.

Stop by to build your own self-care kit, explore our mutual aid tables with free essentials, and spend time in a relaxed environment with snacks, music, and yes, cute plants!

We’re keeping things interactive and community-centered, with space to journal, decompress, and share what support you’d like to see this season, only if you feel like it: no pressure, no formalities, just community.

Whether you’re looking for resources, connection, or a fresh start after the winter months, this space is here for you. Come through, bring a friend, and take what you need

A Safe Space for Teens to Talk, Connect, and Be Heard

Being a teen today comes with real pressure — school, social media, friendships, family stress, identity, and mental health. You don’t have to carry it alone.

Our Teen Peer Support Group is a confidential, supportive space where young people can connect with others who understand what they’re going through. This group is facilitated by trained peer leaders and adult mentors who center respect, empathy, and real conversation.

What to Expect

  • Open, judgment-free discussions

  • Support around stress, anxiety, and relationships

  • Conversations about identity and belonging

  • Tools for coping and emotional regulation

  • Community, connection, and shared understanding

No lectures. No pressure. Just real talk.

Who Can Attend?

Teens ages 14–18
All identities and backgrounds welcome.

Why Peer Support Matters

Research shows that peer connection reduces isolation, improves emotional resilience, and lowers the risk of substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges. Early support builds long-term strength.
