Join us on March 31, 2023 at 3:00PM as we raise the Trans flag at the Upper Darby Township Building to celebrate International Transgender Day of Visibility. We will be gathering at the welcome sign in front of the Township Building, 100 Garrett Road, Upper Darby, PA 19082. We will have a few speakers and then raise the flag in solidarity and celebrate the perseverance and successes of the Transgender community.
However… the nationwide attack on our community cannot go unaddressed.
The transgender and non-binary community’s civil rights, bodily autonomy, personal sovereignty, and mere existence are under attack in an unprovoked culture war declared against us. We are not being hyperbolic. This is about as serious as we can make this. Do not stay home. United we stand.
Silence = Violence.
We must draw the line and stand firm here. We call on everyone to join us in a region wide day of action to defend and uplift the voices of our Trans and LGBTQ+ community members who are under attack nationwide. There are multiple events on March 31st, and encourage everyone to take a break from your scheduled plans and show up.
After the flag raising ceremony and/or are not able to join us please consider joining Free Mom Hugs - Delaware County’s Honk and Wave from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the intersection of Baltimore Pike and Rt 252 in Media holding signs and flags in support of and in celebration of our transgender friends and family members.
Finally, we encourage everyone in the region to join PhillyTransMarch at Philadelphia City Hall at 6:00PM for a rally and demonstration in support of our Trans and non-binary community and against the nationwide assault on the trans community existence. We will not stand by and let this happen here!
