DETAILS

Gathering begins at 1:30pm. The march will begin at 1:45pm from the Sharon Hill Police Department where we will be making a loop around. The police department can be easily accessed using the 102 SEPTA Sharon Hill trolley stop.

We ask all who attend to please remain silent while we march. We will let the number of protesters speak for us. Therefore, we need everyone to join us in this call to action!

BACKGROUND

Fanta Bility was an 8-year old who attended a football game at Academy Park High School on the night of August 27th. An altercation broke out one block away, which resulted in gunfire and a car turning the corner. In response, 3 Sharon Hill police officers that were in attendance automatically opened fire. 4 out of 5 gunshot victims were struck by shots that were fired by the Sharon Hill police officers. Fanta being one of the victims, passed away due to the gunshot wounds.

The negligence and incompetence that these 3 officers demonstrated are quite sickening, disheartening, and merely unacceptable. Firing into a crowd with no designated target cost Fanta her life and other victims to be significantly injured. Mistakes like this cannot be made by those who are supposed to protect and serve, but expected to return to work after their administrative leave is up. This is BEYOND unacceptable.

To Fanta’s family, we are so very sorry for your loss. We truly send our deepest condolences, prayers, and support to you all during this tough time. We stand by you and will do any and everything in our power to assist you in your time of need. After receiving your blessing, we are ready to take action.

On Sunday, October 17th beginning at 1:30 pm, join us as we demand change, answers, and justice for Fanta. In collaboration with Delco Resists, join us as we march for police accountability. Join us as we march for improved and updated training procedures. Join us as we demand for these 3 officers to be removed from the force. Join us as we march for, and honor, the life of Fanta Bility.
