Don't Touch My Hair Workshop

Celebrate the beauty and diversity of hair at our Don't Touch My Hair workshop, a special event hosted at the U.D.T.J. Community Center during Spring Break! Taking place on March 27th from 5 pm to 7 pm, this unique workshop is designed for Black and Brown people and students 16 and up, with a focus on highlighting the importance of hair care for the Black and Brown communities.

Natural hair is beautiful and powerful. Our Don’t Touch My Hair Workshop prioritizes empowering Black and Brown people and allowing them to not only embrace their natural hair, but to learn more about how to take care of it. It can be difficult trying to take care of and maintain your natural hair - it can be a full-time job!

Don’t Touch My Hair Workshop will dive deeper into the beauty of natural hair, our everyday experiences, and hair maintenance. We will talk about hair loss/breakage, hair porosity, hair types, how to properly treat your hair and find products that work best for you, and highlight local salons, local barber shops, and businesses who can better serve your hair needs. Everyone will be given a hair care kit and additional information to take home after the workshop.

Our workshop aims to create a supportive space for discussions surrounding identity, self-expression, and embracing the beauty of diverse hair textures. Don't miss this opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, gain valuable insights, and explore a range of products tailored to meet the unique needs of BIPOC hair. Come and be a part of this empowering and informative event at the U.D.T.J. Community Center – because your hair deserves the best care too!
