Join us at the 69th Street Terminal each month as we conduct our monthly outreach for the unhoused. This event is a collaborative effort with U.D.T.J. and Delaware County residents. We provide waters, hot food, snacks, clothing, and hygiene supplies to our community members in need!

Join us at the community center for a late night open house where you can learn more about our community center, our services, and our programs! We decided to open our doors in the evening for the community to learn more about our organizations as our formal participation in DelCo Gives Days!

Old School v. New School Community Basketball Games

Were you a hooper back in the day or currently love to play ball? This is the event for you! Basketball is more than just a game for our communities, especially Black and Brown youth. In collaboration with The Average Basketball League (ABL), a youth-led league that has been active in marginalized communities throughout Delco, we will be hosting an Old School v. New School Community Basketball Tournament on Saturday, April 13th from 12PM to 3PM at Upper Darby High School. This event will be a joint fundraiser to raise money for ABL's summer league and to ensure that our youth are surrounded by an active community and group of mentors that keep them occupied and safe.

ABL was founded in 2022 by an Upper Darby High School graduate, Tyrone Williams. ABL is officially launching its indoor league in June 2024 in Upper Darby. Support our youth and Black and Brown communities on April 13th! We are bringing the community together for a day of family fun and to highlight our amazing youth through the games, performances, contests. Join us to learn more about how to support the initiatives taking place in your community!

Tickets:

- $15 for all students in Delaware County.

- $20 for tickets purchased online before March 30th.

- $25 for all tickets purchased at the door & after March 30th.

How to Play:

This is a 3 v. 3 tournament. There will be 14 teams and 3 players per team. You must be at least 14 years old to play. You will be randomly assigned to a team if you purchase an individual player ticket. If you already have a team of 3, you can purchase your tickets through the team option. All tickets for players and teams have to be purchased by April 11th. You will receive a follow-up and confirmation email afterwards.

- $30 for individual players

- $90 for teams

Black History Month - Movie Night

This film addresses the challenges of one of Delaware County’s school districts, Chester-Upland. Hear from BIPOC students, local advocates, and mindfulness practitioners.

After our successful LGBTQQIA+ Community Meet-ups, we are launching our BIPOC (Black, indigenous, People of Color) community meet-ups. This movie night will be our first community meet-up and they will be recurring on the last Thursday of the month.

The community meet-up is 18+, all are invited and welcome to attend.

Open House

We truly extend our deepest gratitude for all of your generous donations and unwavering support towards making Delaware County's first BIPOC, LGBTQQIA+, and youth community center a reality!

Your commitment to fostering inclusivity and community empowerment has played a crucial role in achieving this historic milestone.

We are super excited to announce and invite everyone to our ribbon cutting ceremony and open house on Saturday, February 10, from 12 pm to 6 pm.

Accessibility Information: The center is currently located on the second floor with only stair access. We are currently work on securing grants for the installation of a chairlift and will be hosting some events at the Upper Darby One Center to improve accessibility.

Parking Information:

Please note that parking directly in front of the center is typically difficult due to traffic. We recommend that all attendees park at the Upper Darby Municipal Lot located on Garrett Rd. Please make sure to pay for your parking at the kiosk closest to the Fairfield Ave Septa Trolley stop (We want to make sure you do not get a ticket).

Parking is currently $1 an hour for parking.

We ARE Black history. We ARE LGBTQQIA+ history. This event marks a historic day for BIPOC and LGBTQQIA+ communities in Delaware County while we also celebrate Black history month.

Once again, thank you for your incredible support, and we can not wait to be open to the public! We have been working around the clock to be able to provide resources, services, and programs to Delaware County’s marginalized communities. We look forward to celebrating the making of Black and LGBTQQIA+ history with you and the entire community!
